A True Story

Two seasoned fly fishermen - Carl and Thomas – had an idea while on their annual fishing trip to Northern Europe’s best salmon and trout river – Mörrum - in Sweden.

Year after year, armed with their rods and all the rest of their equipment, the two friends fished the river unsuccessfully. And the 2009 trip was no different. So with no fish on the hook the conversation turned, as it usually did, to another favourite subject: Women. “Do you think a woman’s hair could be used instead of coloured fibres?” asked Carl.

“Hm, maybe you could harvest the hair where it’s ‘closest to the water’ and tie a Pussyfly,” replied Thomas.

Carl was onto the idea in a flash. “That’s just what we’ll do. Tie some top-class flies using hair donated by a couple of Scandinavian beauties. Then it’s off to other destinations to obtain quality hair for the black, brown and red flies.” “Done,” said Thomas, “let’s get hold of some hair – not too long – not too curly, and put the idea to the test.”
